Hyderabad: In a spirited campaign for Congress candidate Naveen Yadav at Rahmath Nagar division on Sunday, Roads and Buildings and Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy appealed to the voters of Jubilee Hills constituency to support the hand symbol and strengthen the Congress government for the overall development of the area.

Komatireddy came down heavily on the BRS for “betraying the people” and neglecting Jubilee Hills during its ten-year rule. Addressing the gathering, he questioned, “Did you get a ration card? Did you receive fine rice or a double-bedroom house?” The people’s loud “no” response, he said, reflected the widespread resentment against the BRS regime.

Expressing confidence in the Congress’s victory, the Minister said the massive response from the public showed that Naveen Yadav would win with a huge majority. “People have decided to teach the BRS a lesson for its deception and arrogance,” he remarked.

Speaking to reporters later, Komatireddy said the Congress has always stood by the poor, while the BRS leaders looted Telangana after Sonia Gandhi granted statehood. “People, fed up with the exploitation, have brought back a people’s government under the Congress,” he said.

He said a strong Congress wave was sweeping through Jubilee Hills. “If KCR, who ruled the State for ten years, is personally targeting our candidate, it only shows our strength. If Naveen Yadav was truly a rowdy, BRS leaders should reveal the cases they filed against him when in power,” he said.

Stating that Jubilee Hills was not just a ‘class’ constituency but a ‘mass’ area, Komatireddy said people here value welfare and development, which only Congress can deliver. “Just as the sentiment failed in Cantonment, it will not work here. Jubilee Hills voters no longer trust the BRS,” he asserted.

Komatireddy was accompanied by Road Development Corporation Chairman Mal Reddy Ram Reddy, Tourism Corporation Chairman Patel Ramesh Reddy, local corporators and senior Congress leaders during the campaign.
